abstract |
Provided are irregularly shaped resin particles having a novel shape with which light diffusibility, adhesiveness, oil absorptivity, and the like can be improved; a method for producing the same; and the use thereof. The irregularly shaped resin particles have a convex part and a concave part formed inside the convex part, and the surface of the convex part is virtually spherical. The method for producing the irregularly shaped resin particles comprises a step for obtaining resin particles by polymerization of 100 parts by weight of a first monomer mixture containing 77 to 99.99 parts by weight of a branched alkyl methacrylate, 0.01 to 3 parts by weight of a polyfunctional monomer, and 0 to 20 parts by weight of a monofunctional (meth)acrylic acid ester other than a branched alkyl methacrylate in the presence of 0.1 to 0.9 parts by weight of a chain transfer agent and 0 to 100 parts by weight of a (meth)acrylic acid ester polymer and a step for polymerization after causing the resin particles to absorb a second monomer mixture containing a monofunctional aliphatic monomer and multifunctional monomer in an amount between 5 and 50 wt% per the amount used of monofunctional aliphatic monomer. |
