abstract The present invention relates to a compound expressed by formula 1, to a plant extract comprising same, or to fractions of the extract; and to a stevioside, to a plant extract comprising the stevioside, or to a complex comprising fractions of the plant extract comprising the stevioside, to a pharmaceutical composition comprising the complex as an active ingredient for the prevention or treatment of an influenza virus infection, to a food composition for the prevention or amelioration of an influenza virus infection, to a virucidal quasi-drug composition, to a virucidal animal feed additive, and to an animal feed. According to the present invention, since the compound expressed by formula 1, the plant extract comprising same, or the fractions of the plant extract; and the stevioside, the plant extract comprising same, or a mixture of fractions of the plant extract, exhibit virucidal effects and cytopathic effect-inhibition effects as well as anti-viral efficacy using a specific pathogen-free (SPF) chicken, all may usefully be used for the prevention and treatment of an influenza virus infection.
