titleOfInvention Torsion wave transducer
abstract The invention relates to a torsion wave transducer having a novel configuration that allows the emission and reception of torsion waves, while almost completely preventing the emission of spurious compression waves that contaminate the signal owing to the complex propagation modes thereof. In addition, given that the device does not include the large central transmitting rod found in devices in the prior art, unnecessary inertia and attenuation are eliminated and torsion waves can be emitted at a higher frequency within the ultrasound range.
