The present invention provides a method for predicting the therapeutic effect of a chemotherapy for a gastric caner patient using a combination drug of tegafur, gimeracil and oteracil potassium, said method comprising steps (1) to (3):n(1) a step for measuring the expression amount of EGFR contained in a biosample collected from the patient;n(2) a step for comparing the expression amount of EGFR determined in step (1) with a preset cutoff point corresponding thereto; andn(3) a step for, on the basis of the results of the comparison in step (2), when the expression amount of EGFR is larger than the cutoff point, predicting that a sufficient therapeutic effect is likely to be achieved on the patient by selecting a chemotherapy using the combination drug of tegafur, gimeracil and oteracil potassium together with an EGFR inhibitor, or when the expression amount of EGFR is not larger than the cutoff point, predicting that a sufficient therapeutic effect is likely to be achieved on the patient by selecting a chemotherapy using the combination drug of tegafur, gimeracil and oteracil potassium alone. |
