abstract Disclosed is a method of actively reporting a battery capacity by a STA in a wireless local area network, which comprises: a STA querying a current battery capacity of a sensor, and when the current battery capacity of the sensor is lower than a configured senor battery capacity threshold, sending an alarm to a network management platform through an AP. The present invention also provides a system of actively reporting a battery capacity by a STA in a wireless local area network. According to the technical solutions of the present invention, when a deployment environment is hazardous and the number of sensors is very huge, a network management platform is capable of learning in time an alarm event caused by a low battery capacity of a sensor.
