abstract The present invention provides a terminal for protecting a short message, system and method thereof, wherein contents of the short message to be sent are edited in a first terminal, and based on the functional option selected by a user, the contents of the short message are preformed a protocol encoding in the way of the preset data encoding and then sent; a second terminal receives the short message, when judging that the received short message is set the functional option to protect the short message, limits the authority of the short message. With the present invention, in the present GSM, CDMA protocol, the function of protecting forward the contents of the short message can be realized without the function of EMS.
