abstract The present invention relates to an antimicrobial active substance preparation which comprises the following components: a) a hydrogen peroxide source selected from the group consisting of H 2 O 2 , sodium perborate and sodium percarbonate, b) an acyloxybenzoic acid (OBA) with the general chemical formula: in which R is a linear or branched, saturated alkyl group having 6 to 22 carbon atoms, a linear or branched, mono- or polyunsaturated alkenyl group having 6 to 22 carbon atoms or an aryl group having 6 to 22 carbon atoms, and c) optionally tetraacetylethylenediamine (TAED). The invention is particularly suitable for eliminating microorganisms, in sterilants, disinfectants, impregnating agents or preservatives, detergents or cleaning agents at low temperatures, or in coolants or cooling lubricants, and in the field of water purification and in the pharmaceutical, food, brewing, medical-technical, colour, timber, textile, cosmetics, leather, tobacco, fur, rope, paper, cellulose, plastics, fuel, oil, rubber or machine industry.
