abstract The invention relates to a device for producing synthesis gas (50), having a gasifier apparatus (2), a quench cooler (3) connected downstream of the gasifier apparatus (2), and an oxygen generating unit (6), by means of which oxygen can be supplied to the gasifier apparatus (2). The oxygen generating unit (6) is designed such that oxygen can be generated by using thermal energy from the quench cooler (3).
