abstract The present invention relates to a hydrogen ion-conducting copolymer represented by formula 1, to a method for preparing same, to a method for manufacturing a polymer electrolyte membrane made of the hydrogen ion-conducting copolymer, to a membrane/electrolyte assembly using a hydrogen ion-conducting polymer electrolyte membrane produced therefrom, and to a polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell adopting same. The hydrogen ion-conducting copolymer of the present invention has flexible and strong mechanical properties due to containing a phenylether group and a phenylsulfone group at an appropriate ratio, and also has excellent hydrogen ion conductivity due to containing a diphenyl fluorene group having a sulfonic group introduced therein. Thus, a polymer electrolyte membrane using the hydrogen ion-conducting copolymer has high hydrogen ion conductivity as well as high thermal, mechanical, and dimensional stability.
