titleOfInvention Strongly acidic ion exchanger catalyst and method of preparing the same
abstract The invention relates to a strongly acidic ion exchanger catalyst with affinity towards lipophilic regents having sulfonated aromatic rings of the polymeric skeleton wherein 20 - 70% aromatic rings of the catalyst polymer skeleton contain acyl groups with 2 - 8 carbon atoms in chain. The method of preparation of the same by sulfonation of the aromatic rings of the polymeric skeleton wherein before introducing strong acid groups by sulfonation, the polymer skeleton is treated with an acylation agent at temperatures ranging from 50 °C to the boiling point of the reaction mixture for 1 - 4 hours.
