An odorant precursor is described, which is a Diels-Alder adduct, namely a [4+2] cycloaddition product of an aliphatic or cycloaliphatic 1,3-diene with an odorant aldehyde or ketone which preferably has at least one olefinic C, C double bond. These Diels-Alder adducts allow the controlled release of the bound odorants by introduction of heat and are especially suitable for incorporation into perfume compositions and washing or cleaning compositions. |
