A medical pump is provided with a path-regulating unit which regulates a linking path that links a pumping path and a suction path; a pumping unit which, by discharging a liquid into the pumping path at a discharge rate greater than or equal to a reference discharge rate, generates a state in the pumping path whereby there are never any components missing from the liquid in the pumping direction as far as the linking path; and a suction unit for carrying out suctioning via the suction path. The medical pump is further provided with a control unit, which, by controlling the suctioning rate of the suction unit on the basis of a switching operation with a pump mode input part, adjusts the in-flow rate of the liquid, which flows into the suction path from the pumping path via the linking path, between a pumping on mode and a pumping off mode. |
