abstract A tetraazaperopyrene compound of formula (I): wherein: R 1 , R 2 , R 3 , R 4 , R 5 , R 6 , R 7 , R 8 at each occurrence, independently are selected from H, Cl and Br, with the proviso that at least one of R 1 , R 2 , R 3 , R 4 , R 5 , R 6 , R 7 and R 8 is Cl or Br, R 9 , R 10 , at each occurrence, independently are selected from H, a C 1-30 alkyl group, a C 1-30 haloalkyl group, a C 6-14 aryl group, a heteroaryl group having 5 to 14ringatoms, and a C 7-20 arylalkyl group, wherein aryl, heteroaryl and arylalkyl can be optionally substituted with one or more halogen, C 1-4 haloalkyl, -CN, -NO 2 , -CHO, -COOH, -CONH 2 , - CO(C 1-14 alkyl), -COO(C 1-14 alkyl), -CONHC(C 1-14 alkyl) and -CON(C 1-14 alkyl) 2 groups.
