abstract The invention relates to an appliance for dispensing fizzy beverages into bottles, mugs or glasses under counter-pressure. In a first step the beverage container is mounted to the appliance in a pressure-proof chamber and then the container is pressurised by connecting it to a source of inert gas. During the filling of the container with beverage, the gas pressure is controlled in order to maintain it within given limits. The gas which is displaced by the beverage is fed to an expansion tank.
