A photoelectric conversion element with high photoelectric conversion efficiency is provided. The photoelectric conversion element comprises a first electrode, a second electrode arranged in opposition to the first electrode, and an electron transport layer formed on a face of the first electrode that is opposed to the second electrode. The photoelectric conversion element is provided with a photosensitizer supported on the electron transport layer, and a hole transport layer that is interposed between the first electrode and the second electrode. The electron transport layer comprises perylene imide derivatives indicated in chemical formula (1). |
