System and method for video surveillance of a forest |
abstract |
The invention relates to video surveillance of a forest. What is proposed are: methods and systems for automatically referencing a video camera to an absolute system of coordinates and for determining a change in the video camera referencing. In accordance with one of the aspects, the method comprises the following steps: at each of at least two predetermined points in time the video camera is pointed at an object with a position, within the absolute system of coordinates with a center at the point at which the video camera is arranged, which position is known at this point in time, and the orientation of the video camera within a dedicated system of coordinates of the video camera is determined; and the rotation of the dedicated system of coordinates of the video camera within the absolute system of coordinates is calculated on the basis of the determined orientations of the video camera and the positions of the object. The calculated rotation of the dedicated system of coordinates of the video camera is used to convert the coordinates of the object under observation from the dedicated system of coordinates of the video camera into the absolute system of coordinates. The technical result consists in increasing the accuracy of the determination of the location of an object under observation. |
