abstract |
Disclosed is a method for preparing a glycol mono-tertiary-butylether compound in which a C4 hydrocarbon mixture, including isobutene and a glycol compound, are used as reactants. The glycol di-tertiary-butylether compound that is a byproduct is decomposed into an isobutene and glycol compound, and the decomposed isobutene and glycol compound are recycled as reactants, thereby maximizing the number of produced articles per unit material. The method for preparing a glycol mono-tertiary-butylether compound comprises: a catalyst reaction step of allowing a glycol compound and a C4 hydrocarbon mixture including isobutene to react in the presence of an acid catalyst, to thereby prepare a glycol mono-tertiary-butylether compound and glycol di-tertiary-butylether compound that is a byproduct; a byproduct extraction step of separating the glycol mono-tertiary-butylether compound and glycol di-tertiary-butylether compound prepared in the catalyst reaction step using a hydrophilic extractant and a lipophilic extractant; and a byproduct decomposition and recycling step of decomposing the separated glycol di-tertiary-butylether compound into a glycol compound and isobutene, and recycling the glycol compound and isobutene to the catalyst reaction step. |
