abstract Provided is a lithium-manganese-type solid solution positive electrode material whereby it becomes possible to prevent the generation of any gas during an initial cycle effectively.nProposed is a lithium-manganese-type solid solution positive electrode material which contains a C2/m monoclinic structure in a hexagonal structure with a space group R-3m, and is characterized by containing a solid solution represented by the compositional formula: xLi 4/3 Mn 2/3 O 2 +(1-x)LiMn α Co β Ni γ O 2 (wherein 0.2 ≤ α ≤ 0.6, 0 ≤ β≤ 0.4, 0.2 ≤ γ ≤ 0.6), wherein x in the compositional formula is 0.36 or more and less than 0.50.
