abstract The present invention relates to a ceramic composition that makes it possible to obtain ceramic components with a low density when fired, which comprises carbonate, percarbonate and/or bicarbonate compounds of elements that, in the valency states thereof, comprise valency +1, and/or peroxides of elements that comprise, in the valency states thereof, valencies +1 and/or +2, in a percentage greater than 6% by dry weight of the total composition. The present invention also relates to the use of said composition for producing ceramic components of low density and which are thermally and acoustically insulating.
