abstract Provided are a polyester composition and an adhesive which show potent adhesive force due to the adhesion mechanism that is completely different from conventional adhesion mechanisms and which have excellent physical properties and can sufficiently show the adhesive force.nThe polyester composition consists mainly of a copolymer obtained from hydrocaffeic acid or a derivative thereof as a constituent monomer. The hydrocaffeic acid or derivative thereof has been copolymerized with a monomer having both a carboxy group capable of forming an ester bond and a hydroxy group (for example, hydroxyphenylpropionic acid). The structure of the copolymer is as shown in chemical formula (1).
