abstract |
The present invention relates to an information processing apparatus for assisting diagnosis that is based on a tissue sample image picked up after dyeing a biological tissue. This information processing apparatus receives and analyzes image data with a lower magnification, from among a plurality of image data obtained with different magnifications from an area image of an area selected from within a tissue sample image. The information processing apparatus evaluates whether or not an analysis based on image data with a higher magnification is necessary, on the basis of the result of this analysis. When an analysis based on image data with higher magnification is evaluated as being necessary, the information processing apparatus sends a request to transmit image data of the area image with a higher magnification, receives and analyzes the image data of the area image with a higher magnification transmitted in response to the transmission request, and transmits the result of the analysis. With such a configuration, high-precision diagnosis assistance for a tissue sample image sent by a pathologist can be executed quickly, irrespective of restrictions in transmission capacity. |
