abstract |
Disclosed is a method of producing a novel sulfur-based positive electrode active material which makes possible a lithium ion secondary battery with high charge-discharge capacity; also disclosed is the sulfur-based positive electrode active material obtained by said production method. The sulfur-based positive electrode active material is produced by heating a raw material mixture of a sulfur powder and at least one type of selected polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon powder selected from polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons obtained by fusion of three or more six-membered rings, and by bonding the sulfur to the carbon skeleton derived from the selected polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. Lithium ion secondary batteries using said sulfur-based positive electrode active material in the positive electrode achieve high capacities of 400mAh/g and greater, have and high cycle characteristics. |
