abstract The invention relates to a method for treating a gas mixture containing mercaptans, including the following steps: adsorbing the mercaptans onto at least one molecular adsorption sieve; recovering a purified gas stream; catalytically converting the mercaptans so as to produce hydrocarbons, hydrogen sulfide, and coke; recovering the produced hydrocarbons; and burning the produced coke. The invention also relates to a plant for implementing said method.
