abstract |
Provided is a friction-stir joining tool (1) that has excellent anti-friction properties and high joining strength even when the joining is between materials that are difficult to join. This friction-stir joining tool (1) is a tool used for friction-stir joining and is characterized by: containing a substrate (4); the substrate (4) containing a hard phase and a binder phase; the hard phase containing TiCN; the binder phase comprising an iron group metal; and the mass ratio (B s ) of the binder phase in the region less than or equal to 20μm from the surface of the substrate (4) to the substrate (4) being smaller than the mass ratio (B i ) of the binder phase in the region more than 20μm from the surface of the substrate (4) to the substrate (4). |
