The invention relates to a compound having Formula (I), nC 7 -H 15 -O-(G) p -H (I), where G is the residue of a reducing sugar, and p is a decimal number greater than or equal to 1.05 and less than or equal to 5. The invention also relates to the method for preparing same and to the use thereof as a hydrotropic surfactant, said use being to make soluble, in an aqueous alkaline composition, at least one non-ionic surfactant having Formula (II), R-(O-CH(R')-CH2)n-(0-CH2-CH2)m-0-H (II), where R is a straight or branched, saturated or unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbon radical comprising 8 to 14 carbon atoms, R' is a methyl or ethyl radical, n is a whole number no less than 0 and no more than 15, and m is a whole number no less than 0 and no more than 15, assuming that the sum n + m is greater than 0. The invention also relates to the compositions (C1) containing 0.5% to 20% of compounds of Formula (I), 0.5% to 80% of compounds of Formula (II), 10 wt % to 50 wt % of at least one alkaline agent, 15 wt % to 89 wt % of water, and optionally, 10 wt % to 50 wt % of at least one anti-limescale agent. The invention moreover relates to the use of said compositions for cleaning hard surfaces. |
