abstract The present invention comprises a compound of a compound of Formula 1 wherein R f is a C 2 to C- 12 perfluoroalkyl optionally interrupted by one to four moieties each independently selected from the group consisting of -CH 2 -, -O-, -S-, -S(O)-, and -S(O) 2 -; n is 1 to 6; m is 0 to 2, provided that m is less than or equal to n. X and Y are each independently O or NR, R is hydrogen or C 1 to C 6 alkyl; R 1 , and R 2 are each independently C 1 to C 6 alkyl, optionally containing one or more oxygen atoms and may form a ring selected from the group of piperidine, pyrrolidine, and morpholine; and R 3 is O", (CH 2 ) p C(O)O", (CH 2 ) p CH(OH)(CH 2 )SO 3 n - , and (CH 2 ) q SO 3 n - ; p is 1 to 4; and q is 2 to 4 which is useful as a surfactant.
