Dose setting mechanism for a drug delivery device, drug delivery system and drug delivery device |
abstract |
A dose setting mechanism (302) that prevents dispensing of a drug when an incorrect cartridge assembly (304) is attached to the dose setting mechanism (302). The dose setting mechanism (302) includes a housing (305), a spindle (306), a spindle nut (308) comprising a plurality of protrusions (320), a lock nut (309) comprising a plurality of corresponding protrusions (322), and a biasing member (324) operably connected to the lock nut (309). The spindle nut (308) is engaged with the spindle (306), and the spindle nut (308) is fixed axially in the housing (305) and is configured to rotate in the housing (305). The lock nut (309) is fixed rotationally and is configured to move axially. The biasing member (324) prevents the plurality of protrusions (320) from interacting with the plurality of corresponding protrusions (322). When a cartridge assembly (304) of a correct length is inserted in the dose setting mechanism (302), the cartridge assembly (304) compresses the biasing member (324) and forces the plurality of protrusions (320) to interact with the plurality of corresponding protrusions (322). |
