abstract | Compositions and methods for treating infections from gram negative bacteria are provided wherein the composition comprises a Kingella NhhA homolog (Knh) peptide or a Kingella capsular polysaccharide. These composition are used to induce an immune response in a subject to inhibit the establishment or maintenance of a pathogenic infection by gram negative bacterium including for example Kingella kingae. Methods are also provided for preventing or interfering with the ability of gram negative bacterium including for example Kingella kingae to adhere to cell and tissue surfaces. |
