abstract The invention relates to: 1) an aqueous adhesive composition free of boric acid, having a viscosity of between 2500 and 4000 mPa.s and comprising at least one polyvinyl alcohol (A) and a vinyl acetate/ethylene copolymer (B) in an amount ranging from 20 to 45%, which composition is obtained by incorporating (B) in the form of an aqueous dispersion which, for a dry content of approximately 55%, has a viscosity greater than 4000 mPa.s.; and 2) the use thereof for assembling cardboard substrates in the production of rigid packaging or sleeving.
