abstract | The disclosed evaluation method for evaluating the protective effect against ultraviolet radiation of a sample coated onto a member to be coated involves: a first step for measuring at prescribed wavelength intervals the change over time of the spectral transmission spectrum of the aforementioned sample in a prescribed wavelength region by means of applying radiation from a light source that includes radiation of ultraviolet light, visible light and infrared light in accordance with pre-set irradiation conditions; a second step for setting, on the basis of the change over time of the aforementioned spectral transmission spectrum, the correlation between the irradiation time and the erythemal effect amount per unit time obtained by dividing erythemal effect amount of the aforementioned sample by the erythemal effect amount per 1 MED; and a third step for calculating from the aforementioned correlation an in vitro rSPF predictive value of the aforementioned sample on the basis of the time it takes for the cumulative erythemal effect amount integrated over time to reach 1 MED. |
