[Problem] To provide a dispersant which enables excellent dispersion of fine particles even at a high fine particle concentration and which does not exert influence on the performance of a resin composition that contains the fine particles, and to provide a resin composition which contains the dispersant and which exhibits excellent development characteristics even at a high pigment concentration. [Solution] The problem is solved by using, as a dispersant, a polycarboxylic acid resin (A) that contains unsaturated groups. The polycarboxylic acid resin (A) is a product of reaction of a reactive carboxylate compound (B) with a polybasic carboxylic acid anhydride (c), said reactive carboxylate compound (B) being a product of reaction of an epoxy resin (a) represented by general formula (1) with a monocarboxylic acid (b) that contains an unsaturated group. In general formula (1), n represents an average value and is a number of 0 to 10; P and R may be the same or different from each other and are each a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, C 1-8 alkyl, or C 1-8 aryl; and G is glycidyl. |
