titleOfInvention Method for controlling the driving mode of a motor vehicle
abstract The invention relates to a method for controlling the driving mode of a motor vehicle, the drive train of which is largely automated, and a drive motor which is embodied as an internal combustion engine, an incrementally or infinitely adjustable transmission, and at least one clutch which is arranged between the drive motor and the transmission, wherein during travel when certain operating conditions apply and a suitable speed profile (V F (X FS )) applies, which is calculated on the basis of topography data and vehicle parameters for a route section lying ahead, the drive train is opened and the travel is continued until an abort signal occurs in the so-called coasting mode. In order to enable a coasting mode there is provision that the speed profile (V F (X FS )), which is calculated for the case of immediate opening of the drive train, is determined continuously at successive equidistant travel points along the route (X FS ) and is respectively evaluated in relation to a lower limiting speed (VGr_u) and an upper limiting speed (vGr_o), and that the coasting mode is enabled only if the evaluation result for a predefined minimum number (n X_Min ) of successive travel points is respectively positive.
