Disclosed are: a condensed polycyclic aromatic compound which has excellent responsiveness to a lithium ion and is suitable for use in a lithium ion secondary battery; a process for producing the condensed polycyclic aromatic compound; a positive electrode active material which is characterized by comprising the condensed polycyclic aromatic compound; a positive electrode for a lithium ion secondary battery, which comprises the positive electrode active material; and a lithium ion secondary battery which involves the positive electrode as a constituent and has high capacity and excellent cycle suitability. The condensed polycyclic aromatic compound is characterized by having at least four imino groups per molecule. |
