abstract The present invention discloses a method and device for channel sounding, and belongs to the technical field of communication. Wherein, said method includes: a base station sets different shift values for different cells in order that the cross-correlation between a sounding signal of any one subscriber in the current cell and a sounding signal of any one subscriber in an adjacent cell is below a threshold, and the aim of reducing the mutual interference of sounding signals among different subscribers is achieved; according to the shift value of said current cell, said base station determines the golay sequence corresponding to any subscriber in said current cell; notifying the subscriber in said current cell to use the determined golay sequence to perform channel sounding. By employing the present invention, the interference among sounding signals is suppressed.
