abstract Of the disclosed honeycomb filter (20): the thickness (t p ) of partition sections (22) is at least 150 μm and no more than 460 μm; the average thickness (t Ave ) of collecting layers that configure a collecting layer (24) is at least 5 μm and no more than 80 μm; the membrane thickness ratio (Y 1 ), which is the ratio of the downstream thickness (t l ) to the up-/mid-stream thickness (t hm ) that is the average value of the upstream and midstream collecting layer (24) of the honeycomb filter (20), fulfils the relationship of formula 1; the membrane thickness ratio (Y­­ 2 ), which is the ratio of the maximum thickness (t max ) of the collecting layers of the collecting layer (24) to the average thickness (t ave ) of the collecting layers, fulfills the relationship of formula 2; and the hydraulic diameter (HD­ in ) of cells (23) fulfils the relationship of formula 3. -4/375∙t Ave +2.05 ≤ Y 1 ≤ -17/375∙t Ave +10.23 (formula 1); Y 2 ≤ -1/15∙t Ave +8.33 (formula 2); and 0.95 ≤ HD in ≤ 2.0 (formula 3).
