abstract Disclosed is a material for an organic electroluminescence element wherein the 3 and 6 position of a carbazole skeleton in the center respectively have a bulky carbazolyl group, and the N position of the carbazole skeleton in the center has a dibenzofuran skeleton or a dibenzothiophene skeleton via a linking group, as necessary. Also disclosed is an organic electroluminescence element which has, between an anode and a cathode, one or more organic thin-film layers containing a light-emitting layer, wherein at least one of the layers of the organic thin-film layer contains said material for an organic electroluminescence element.
