abstract |
The mild slope channel hydropower generation system uses water flowing in an open channel whereby the velocity is modified by suitable modification of channel cross sections such that the flow is accelerated from subcritical to supercritical flow and a hydraulic jump. The available kinetic energy of the supercritical flow can be converted or transferred into required potential energy downstreams of the hydraulic jump for power generation without effecting the upstream flow conditions. |
