Methods, devices, and systems for microfluidic enrichment of selected cell populations are described. Methods of labeling white blood cells include obtaining whole blood drawn from a patient, separating the white blood cells from the whole blood by flowing the whole blood through a microfluidic device that includes one or more arrays of obstacles configured to deflect the white blood cells in a direction away from a direction of remaining components of the whole blood, and collecting the separated white blood cells. A buffer containing a labeling agent with an affinity for white blood cells is mixed with the white blood cells either before or after separating the white blood cells from the whole blood resulting in labeled white blood cells. |
