Provided is a lubricating oil composition for chillers which has a low global warming potential due to a lubricating oil composition that contains a base oil and a sulfur-containing aromatic compound, and is for chillers that use a refrigerant that contains at least one type of fluorine-containing organic compound selected from the compounds represented by the molecular formula (A) below, or a combination of the aforementioned fluorine-containing organic compound and a saturated fluorinated hydrocarbon. The lubricating oil composition is used for chillers that use a refrigerant having a specific structure, such as an unsaturated fluorinated hydrocarbon, which is a refrigerant that is particularly suitable for existing car air conditioners, air conditioners, and the like, and has excellent compatibility with the aforementioned refrigerant, and has excellent thermal and chemical stability.
