A steam turbine member exerting excellent oxidation resistance is provided at low cost without forming an alloy coating by means of thermal spraying or sintering. Specifically, disclosed is a steam turbine member using, as the base material, a stainless steel, which has Fe as the main component and which contains 8 to 15 weight% of Cr and 0.1 to 1.0 weight% of Mn, wherein the surface of the base material has an oxide film comprising the oxide of the constituent elements of the base material. Preferably, the oxide film has a thickness of 1µm or less. Moreover, the oxide film preferably has a surface roughness (Ra) of 1.6a or less. |
