Disclosed is a filler that inhibits CO 2 -caused foaming and comprises particles of a hydrotalcite-like compound in addition to calcium hydroxide particles and/or magnesium hydroxide. Also disclosed are a use for said filler, in which said filler is used in a synthetic resin, and a molded object made therefrom. More specifically, the disclosed foaming-inhibiting filler contains particles of the hydrotalcite-like compound represented by chemical structural formula (1) ((Mg 2+ ) y (M 1 n 2+ ) (1− y ) ] 1− x n M 3+ n x (OH) 2 CO 3 n 2− ∙ m H 2 O, in which M 1 n 2+ represents a divalent metal, M 3+ represents at least one trivalent metal, and x , y , and m represent values that fulfill the relations 0 < x < 0.5, 0 ≤ m < 2, and 0 < y ≤ 1) in addition to calcium hydroxide particles and/or magnesium hydroxide particles in a proportion between 2:8 and 9:1 with respect to the particles of the hydrotalcite-like compound. The disclosed resin composition, which contains the disclosed filler, does not exhibit foaming problems. |
