A phytocostituent was isolated from petroleum ether (40-60°C) extract of seeds of Heracleum nepalense and the data obtained from CHN, UV, IR, NMR. Mass spectral data suggests the compound as 9-methoxy-4-(3-methyl-2-oxo-butoxy)-furo[3.2g]chromane-7- one (I). Isolated compound is useful as a lead having p38 MAP Kinase and c-Jun-N-terminal Kinase inhibiting activity and each inhibition is effective in-vivo. |
