Disclosed are: a method for producing a plastic lens that has a high-performance antistatic anti-reflection film wherein two layers, namely a high refractive index layer and a low refractive index layer, can be easily affixed at the same time; and a plastic lens which is produced by the production method. Specifically, a first coating liquid, which is obtained by dispersing, as fine conductive metal oxide particles, fine ZnO·Sb2O5 particles and fine complex oxide particles mainly composed of SnO2 in a volatile solvent (for example, in isopropyl alcohol), is applied over the surface of a plastic optical base that is provided with a hard coat layer, and the volatile solvent is volatilized without being heated, thereby forming a high refractive index layer. A second coating liquid, which is mainly composed of an organosilicon compound wherein fine hollow silica particles that have an average particle diameter not smaller than the average particle diameter of the fine ZnO·Sb2O5 particles are dispersed, is applied onto the thus-formed high refractive index layer by a spin coating method, and a low refractive index layer is formed on top of the high refractive index layer by heating. |
