Disclosed are composite particles containing titanium dioxide, which do not undergo the deterioration in degree of white tint of titanium dioxide (which may occur upon heating/burning) and have excellent weather resistance. In each of the composite particles, an oxide layer comprising silicon oxide and zirconium oxide is used as a coating component for titanium dioxide. Thus, specifically disclosed are: composite particles each of which comprises a base material comprising titanium dioxide and an oxide layer arranged on the base material and comprising silicon oxide and zirconium oxide; and a process for producing the composite particles. |
