abstract |
Disclosed is a colour filter substrate for a semitransparent-type liquid-crystal display device, wherein an optical screening layer is arranged at the periphery of an effective display region on a transparent substrate and colour pixels of a plurality of colours including green pixels, spacers, and first phase difference layers are formed in the effective display region. Recesses are formed in respective colour pixels and the first phase difference layers are provided within the recesses, and furthermore the first phase difference layers have a function for 90° polarization rotation of incident light, which has been converted to linearly polarized light, in one passage of the incident light back and forth in the thickness direction of the first phase difference layer. |
