abstract Provided is a base coat coating composition wherein it is possible to form a strong top coat layer which can sufficiently protect a metal thin film on the metal thin film, and to prevent the metal thin film from cracking even when a heat resistance test is performed. Also provided are a composite film and a method for producing same. Disclosed is a base coat coating composition for undercoating a metal thin film formed on a metal base material, which contains a coating film-forming composition having an average molecular weight between crosslinks of 180 to 1000 and containing 30 mass% or more of an epoxy(meth)acrylate having a cyclic structure. Also disclosed are a composite film provided with a base coat layer obtained by means of said base coat coating composition, and a method for producing said composite film.
