A low voltage control system includes a programmable controller and a plurality of DC lighting loads. The controller includes at least one DC power bus output, a bidirectional bus output, and a programmable processing unit in communication with a controller memory unit. The DC lighting loads each include at least one LED and an associated PLD or ASIC connected to the bidirectional bus and operable to control an associated load modulation circuit. The controller processing unit uses program instructions stored on the controller memory unit to selectively control the associated modulation circuits of the DC lighting loads via the PLD or ASIC in response to sensor data received from at least one first input device. At least one second input device selectively controls the associated modulation circuits of the DC lighting loads independently of the controller via the PLD or ASIC associated with each of the modulation circuits. |
