titleOfInvention Exhaust emission purifier of internal combustion engine
abstract An exhaust emission purifier of an internal combustion engine comprises an NO x occlusion reduction catalyst (16), an oxidation catalyst (17) arranged in the downstream of the NO x occlusion reduction catalyst (16), an exhaust gas tank (51) connected with the exhaust passage of the engine between the NO x occlusion reduction catalyst (16) and the oxidation catalyst (17), and an on-off valve (52) which interrupts the exhaust passage of the engine leading to the oxidation catalyst (17) and makes the exhaust gas flow into the tank (51). When the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas flowing into the NO x occlusion reduction catalyst (16) is enriched, the exhaust passage leading to the oxidation catalyst (17) is interrupted, the channel for flowing the exhaust gas is switched so that the exhaust gas flows into the tank (51), and the exhaust gas is reserved in the tank (51).
