abstract |
A foam dispensing apparatus (20) is capable of dispensing a mixture of a resin component and an isocyanate component. The foam dispensing apparatus (20) includes a resin line (34) and an isocyanate line (36) connected to a manifold (34). A nozzle (22) is connected to the manifold (24) and the mixture is dispensed through the nozzle (22). The manifold (24) defines a resin duct (26) in communication with the resin line (34) and the nozzle (22) and an isocyanate duct (28) in communication with the isocyanate line (36) and the nozzle (22). At least one valve (38, 40) is connected to the resin and isocyanate lines (34, 36) and is moveable between an open position allowing flow through the resin and isocyanate lines and a closed position preventing flow through the resin and isocyanate lines. The valve (38, 40) is disposed exterior to the manifold (24) and the flow is unregulated in the manifold for reducing maintenance of the manifold. |
