abstract The present invention provides a data transmission method, device and system, and relates to the field of wireless network technology. The data transmission method provided by the embodiments of the present invention includes: obtaining downlink data packets sent to a terminal, wherein the downlink data packets do not have high layer protocol stack packet headers; sending the downlink data packets to the terminal via the air interface; and receiving uplink data packets from the terminal, wherein the uplink data packets do not have the high layer protocol stack packet headers; encapsulating the uplink data packets with the corresponding high layer protocol stack packet headers and forwarding them. The present invention can reduce the data amount of the air interface transmission furthest, improve the efficiency of the air interface transmission evidently, save the air interface resources, favor the enrichment and development of the wireless service, and meet the requirements of the users. The present invention is suitable for the occasions of the air interface transmission in wireless networks.
